Summer Camp Staff Positions Applications for paid staff are now being accepted. Applications, forms, and references must be received by Dec. 15th to be considered for staff. Staff interviews will be held Dec 20th - 21st. After receiving all of your information with references you will be contacted for an interview time. You must be at least 19 years of age and have been out of High School for one year by June 7th 2011 to hold a paid staff position. You must also pass a drug test and background check. Counseling and Program Staff Head Counselor – supervises the workings of the summer camp program. They are over all of the summer camp staff and the scheduling of activities and duties. They are the spokesperson during the camp season. They also help with staff and volunteer training. Cabin Area Supervisor – are the leaders of the cabin circles. They are in charge of the staff counselors and volunteer cabin counselors. They place the counselors, VCC, and campers in cabins and watch for the physical, mental, and spiritual well being of the cabin circle. Arts & Crafts – plans and implements arts and crafts activities, responsible for ordering needed supplies. Head Lifeguard – is in charge of the pool area, chemical testing, cleaning the pool, planning pool games, and scheduling lifeguards. Music/Drama – must play guitar, plans music with clergy, helps with skits and schedules any skit nights. Sports – plans and implements sports activities, inspects all the sports gear, and cleans DeWolfe hall. Will need to attend a class to become certified to teach archery. Nature – plans and implements nature activities, hikes, fishing, orienteering, and other nature games. Audio/Visual – will take pictures, post pictures to the Web site, in charge of slideshow, making the session CD, and sorting camper mail. Cabin Area Assistants – Care for the camper’s physical, mental, and spiritual well being on a daily basis. They are in charge of a cabin of campers and the volunteer counselors in their cabin. Counselors in Training - will be paid by the week as counselors on an as needed basis. 18 year-olds are eligible for these positions.
