| Summer Camp 2008 Staff Positions Applications for paid staff are now being accepted. Applications, forms, and references must be received by Dec. 10th to be considered for staff. Staff interviews will be held December 19th -22nd. After receiving all of your information with references you will be contacted for an interview time. You must be at least 18 years of age and completed High School by June 1st to hold a paid staff position. You must also pass a drug test and background check. We will be offering 20 staff positions this year. Counseling and Program Staff Boys and Girls Head Counselors – are the leaders of the cabin circles. They are in charge of the staff counselors and volunteer cabin counselors. They place the counselors, VCC, and campers in cabins and watch for the physical, mental, and spiritual well being of the cabin circle. Head Day Camp Counselor –Will check in and check out campers each day. Contact parents and coordinate drop-off and pick-up times. Direct Day Camp Counselors and volunteers. Arts & Crafts Counselor – plans and implements arts and crafts activities, responsible for ordering needed supplies. Head Lifeguard – is in charge of the pool area, chemical testing, cleaning the pool, planning pool games, and scheduling lifeguards. Music/Drama Counselor – must play guitar, plans music with clergy, helps with skits and schedules any skit nights. Sports Counselor – plans and implements sports activities, inspects all the sports gear, and cleans DeWolfe hall. Staff Counselors – Care for the camper’s physical, mental, and spiritual well being on a daily basis. They are in charge of a cabin of campers and the volunteer counselors in their cabin. Day Camp Counselors – Have a group of children during the day. They will act as regular staff counselors. When the daily duties are done they will also be asked to sleep in a cabin with campers as a co-counselor.
Support Staff Support staff’s main concern is the physical needs of the camp. When the daily duties are done they will also be asked to sleep in a cabin with campers as a counselor. The four positions are as follows. Maintenance Staff – routine maintenance, mowing, fill water jugs, and empty outdoor trash. Photography Staff – will take pictures, post pictures to the Web site, in charge of slideshow, making the session CD, and sorting camper mail. Kitchen Staff – help with cooking, stock shelves, clean cooking utensils, sweep and mop kitchen. Rug Rat Patrol - watch and keep the children of staff members, clergy, and volunteers that can not otherwise be placed in the current session. Supervise this group of children as well as the volunteers that will be helping them.
