Service Project Ideas for Youth and Adults


 
 

Are you looking for a service project for your youth group or Scout troop?

Is the Holy Spirit giving you a “nudge” about making better use of your gifts?

Has it been too long since you painted a barn?

Do you want to hug a tree at Camp Crucis, but you don’t know any of them personally?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, pick one of the projects below and call Jason Bontke, the Director of Camp Crucis, to arrange a date and time to get the job done!

 
 

Simple Projects

1. Paint fences -
2. Collecting trash and clearing campsites for remote camping – requires strong back, gloves, and tools
3. Clearing trails for hikers and horses – requires strong back, gloves, and tools
4. Weed flower beds and plant shrubs and flowers – requires strong back, gloves, and tools
5.
Plant trees and grass – requires strong back, gloves, and tools

 

Medium Skill Level Projects

1. Build walkways and steps between lodges - requires masonary skills and forming
2. Putting up cable barriers – requires digging post holes, mixing cement, stretching cable
3. Add signs to the hiking trails - requires woodworking, and painting
4. Paint exterior of barn and storage buildings – requires painting and masking

Journeyman Projects

1. Prep, mask, and paint exterior of buildings - requires scrapping, taping, and painting skills
2.
Mason repair to stone work - requires masonary tools
3. Patching cracks and joints – requires taping, bedding, texturing and painting
4. Gravel Parking areas and put up cable barriers with wheel stops
