| Founded in 1947 as a summer camp ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, Camp Crucis later became a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth where it has grown to be both an outstanding Christian summer camping program and a wonderful retreat center. It is a place where parishes and other groups can come away from the flurry of busy lives to deepen relationships with Christ and with one another. The serene natural setting brings a welcome refreshment of spirit, mind and body; re-energizing participants for their common mission. Residing on 140 wooded, rolling acres near Stroud’s Creek in the lake country surrounding historic town of Granbury, the facilities provide the quiet seclusion of a peaceful natural environment. Yet for those that may desire a diversion, Camp Crucis is within a short drive to the Historic Town Square of Granbury with it’s wonderful antique shops, excellent dining, the family entertainment of Granbury Live, and the renowned Granbury Opera House. Nearby Fossil Rim Nature Preserve and Dinosaur Valley State park are additional attractions to the area. The Camp Crucis Summer Camping program offers an outstanding Christian camping program for children and teens from all denominations and all walks of life. Camp Crucis is a Christian community of love and fellowship where young people are encouraged to have fun; to experience the love of Christ and that personal relationship that can grow and develop in Him. Our programs seeks to help to shape the moral character of the participants; instilling positive community values, integrity and strength of character. Our young people are encouraged to grow in their walk with Christ and to develop a clearer understanding of their role as stewards of God’s creation. These experiences and relations are fostered through the daily teachings along with the love and Christian leadership of the Senior Staff, volunteer counselors and volunteer clergy. |
